Bardez: Fisheries Minister Nilkant Halarnkar, in the presence of Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, MLA Kedar Naik, Secretary for Fisheries Prasanna Acharya, IAS, and other dignitaries, inaugurated a new 20-seater toilet block along with a 40 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Malim Jetty, Betim, Bardez.
The facility is aimed at improving sanitation and hygiene standards in the area, which sees high footfall from fishermen, locals, and tourists. The STP will ensure proper treatment of wastewater, contributing to a cleaner environment and better public health.
Speaking on the occasion, the ministers emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure at fishing jetties while also promoting tourism-friendly amenities.
