Panaji: District Magistrate (North Goa) Ankit Yadav, IAS, chaired a District Level Committee meeting to review claims received under the Forest Rights Act, 2006.
A total of 43 claims from the villages of Kopardem, Malpan, and Sathre in Sattari taluka were taken up during the meeting. Of these, 29 claims were approved, 3 were reverted to the Sub-Divisional Level Committee for further scrutiny, while 11 were rejected on grounds of duplication.
Officials stated that the exercise was conducted to ensure rightful recognition of community and individual claims under the Act, while maintaining transparency and adherence to legal provisions.
