Calangute: Former Calangute MLA Agnelo Fernandes has expressed concern over what he described as an unprecedented beef shortage in the State, claiming it is the first time such scarcity has been witnessed under the current Chief Minister’s tenure.
Fernandes recalled that from the tenure of former Chief Ministers Dayanand Bandodkar to Manohar Parrikar, there was “never a sense of fear” regarding beef availability, but the present situation marked a change.
He urged the State Government to take immediate steps to address the issue and also called for the establishment of a Minority Commission in Goa to address community concerns and safeguard the interests of minority groups.
