Panaji, July 11:
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today chaired the 206th Board Meeting of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) in Panaji, underlining the government’s commitment to fast-tracking infrastructure development across the state. The meeting was held in the presence of GSIDC Vice Chairman Shri Kedar Naik and senior officials.
During the meeting, several crucial projects aimed at enhancing public convenience, urban rejuvenation, and institutional infrastructure were approved for implementation. These include:
Upgradation of Municipal Market, Sankhali
Demolition and Reconstruction of St. Estevam Bridge, Tiswadi – at an estimated cost of ₹21 crore
Construction of a New Boys Hostel at Goa Medical College, Bambolim – with a projected cost of ₹113 crore
Redevelopment of Old Government Buildings in Margao, including the iconic Old Collectorate Building and the former Police Headquarters
Development of Old Bus Stand, Margao – budgeted at ₹12 crore
Ancillary and Maintenance Works at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali – worth ₹3 crore
Speaking after the meeting, CM Sawant stated that these projects reflect the Government’s continued push to upgrade civic infrastructure and create modern, accessible, and people-friendly public spaces.
“These initiatives are a step forward in realizing our vision of Viksit Goa 2037. GSIDC continues to play a vital role in delivering high-quality infrastructure with speed and efficiency,” he added.
The Chief Minister emphasized that timely execution and quality workmanship would be the government’s top priority in ensuring these projects translate into meaningful improvements in the lives of Goans.
