Sankhali, July 18:
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated a special exhibition commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee at Ravindra Bhavan, Sankhali, paying rich tributes to the visionary leader and patriot.
Speaking at the event, CM Sawant highlighted Dr. Mookerjee’s unwavering commitment to India’s unity, integrity, and freedom, and recalled his strong support for Goa’s liberation from colonial rule.
“Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was a true patriot who lived and sacrificed for the idea of a unified India. His legacy as the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, a champion of One Nation, One Constitution, and a driving force for national integration, continues to inspire generations,” said the Chief Minister.
The exhibition showcased rare photographs, writings, and memorabilia reflecting Dr. Mookerjee’s contributions to India’s political, educational, and nationalist movements.
The event drew participation from local leaders, students, and citizens who came together to honor the life and ideals of a leader whose vision laid the foundation for many of India’s democratic values.
