Sankhali | July 19, 2025:
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated a state-of-the-art STEM Lab at Government Higher Secondary School, Sankhali, marking a significant step towards strengthening hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in Goa. The lab has been established under ONGC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative through the Goa CSR Authority.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Sawant emphasized that the STEM Lab is designed to support the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the national development roadmap of Viksit Bharat 2047. “This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to nurture digital skills and innovation among the youth,” he said.
The CM highlighted that the Sankhali facility is one of six such STEM labs being set up across Goa. These labs aim to empower students to explore, experiment, and excel by providing a dynamic, interactive platform for learning in science, robotics, and technology.
He added that such initiatives will help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, fostering a culture of scientific curiosity and technological innovation from a young age.
The STEM lab features modern educational tools, robotics kits, interactive modules, and tech-driven experiments that are expected to enhance classroom learning and equip students with future-ready skills.
The event received a positive response from students, teachers, and the local community, with many expressing appreciation for the government’s push towards quality education and innovation.
