Mapusa, Goa:
In an inspiring display of humanity and duty beyond the uniform, Goa Police constable Sandesh Aroskar from Mapusa Police Station has emerged as a local hero after rescuing a homeless pregnant woman and her two toddlers who had been living on the streets for over two weeks.
While many passersby ignored the family’s plight, Constable Aroskar chose compassion over indifference. Upon noticing the vulnerable trio struggling to survive on the roadside, he immediately intervened, ensuring their safety and well-being. Understanding the urgency of the situation, he promptly alerted Street Providence, a Goa-based NGO that works for the homeless and underprivileged, to provide the family with shelter and necessary care.
His swift and empathetic action has drawn praise from citizens and superiors alike, highlighting the role of the police not just in law enforcement, but also as guardians of humanity.
“Constable Aroskar’s gesture reminds us that small acts of kindness can have a life-changing impact,” said a senior police official.
The woman and her children are now under safe care, thanks to Aroskar’s timely intervention. His actions have not only restored hope for one family but also reinforced faith in compassionate policing.
