Joida: In a shocking incident, a 49-year-old farmer, Maruti Malekar, sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a wild bear near Ramnagar, in the Joida region.
The attack occurred while Maruti was walking home through a forested area. The bear reportedly charged at him, inflicting severe injuries to his head and limbs. Despite heavy bleeding and intense pain, the brave farmer managed to walk nearly 4 kilometers to reach his home.
He was later rushed to KLE Hospital in Belagavi, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be stable but critical.
Forest officials have been alerted, and locals have demanded increased vigilance and preventive measures to avoid further man-animal conflict in the area.
