Panaji: In a significant show of public engagement, the Goa Forward Party (GFP) has claimed that its President, Vijai Sardesai, received a total of 2,813 emails from citizens as part of a recent outreach initiative. The campaign aimed to gather public concerns and suggestions ahead of the upcoming Assembly session.
In a statement, the GFP said, “Goemkars, your voices have been loud, clear, and impossible to ignore. From every corner of Goa, your concerns have reached us, and our President Vijai bab will carry them straight to the Assembly.”
The initiative was launched to bridge the gap between the public and their elected representatives, allowing citizens to directly share their issues and expectations with Sardesai. The party said the emails covered a wide range of topics including environmental protection, unemployment, infrastructure gaps, and rising cost of living.
Vijai Sardesai, who has often positioned himself as a vocal advocate for Goemkarponn (Goan identity), is expected to raise several of these concerns during the monsoon session of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
The GFP lauded the overwhelming response to the initiative, calling it a testament to the people’s trust and desire for change through participatory democracy.
