


Panaji, July 11 – The Directorate of Art and Culture, in collaboration with the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, inaugurated a Miniature Painting Workshop at the Art Gallery, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto-Panaji. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Director of Art and Culture, Sagun Velip, along with other dignitaries and art enthusiasts.
The workshop, which commenced today, aims to revive and promote the intricate tradition of miniature painting, a revered art form with deep cultural and historical roots. It will continue till July 17, 2025.
Expert artists from Rajasthan, known for their mastery in miniature painting, will lead the sessions. The programme includes detailed theoretical insights and practical training, supported by live demonstrations, giving participants a comprehensive understanding of the art form.
Speaking at the inauguration, Sagun Velip emphasized the importance of preserving traditional art forms and expressed gratitude to WZCC for their collaboration. “This initiative is a platform for aspiring artists and art lovers in Goa to learn from the masters and carry forward this beautiful legacy,” he said.
The workshop has attracted participants from across Goa and beyond, reflecting the growing interest in classical Indian art practices.
Art lovers and the general public are invited to visit the gallery during the workshop period to witness the sessions and interact with the artists.
