Celebrated artist and singer Hema Sardessai inaugurated the vibrant cultural program “Monsoon Expression” at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji. The event, organized by the Directorate of Art and Culture, is a celebration of Goa’s rich artistic heritage through music, theatre, dance, folk traditions, literature, visual arts, and painting exhibitions.
The multi-disciplinary program aims to provide a platform for artists across various genres to showcase their talents and engage with audiences during the monsoon season. Attendees were treated to a confluence of traditional and contemporary performances, offering a glimpse into the diversity of Goa’s cultural landscape.
Present at the inaugural ceremony were Sagun Velip, Director of Art and Culture, Milind Mate, Deputy Director of Art and Culture, along with officials, artists, and art enthusiasts.
Speaking at the occasion, Hema Sardessai praised the initiative and emphasized the importance of promoting local art and talent. “Goa is not only about scenic beauty but also about the deep artistic and cultural roots we must continue to nurture and celebrate,” she said.
Director Sagun Velip highlighted the department’s continued commitment to creating inclusive and accessible cultural spaces for Goan artists. The event is expected to run over the coming days with a variety of performances and exhibitions open to the public.
