Panaji: Fatorda MLA and Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the timing of a meeting called by Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, questioning its effectiveness now that the Assembly session has concluded.
“What is the use of calling a meeting of opposition MLAs after the entire process of the Assembly session is finished? What strategy will we plan now?” Sardesai asked, voicing frustration over what he perceives as a lack of timely coordination and proactive planning among opposition leaders.
Sardesai’s remarks signal growing unease within the opposition ranks regarding leadership and strategy, particularly when it comes to taking a united stand on key legislative issues. The criticism suggests a deeper rift over how the opposition is being led in the Assembly and its preparedness to counter the ruling party’s moves.
While the meeting convened by Alemao was presumably aimed at post-session analysis and future coordination, Sardesai’s comments have put the spotlight on the need for better pre-session strategy and collective action among opposition MLAs.
The incident adds to the ongoing narrative of fragmentation and inconsistency within the opposition bloc, raising questions about its readiness to present a credible and cohesive challenge to the BJP-led government in Goa.
