The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA), North Goa, was held under the chairmanship of Collector North, Ankit Yadav, IAS, to review the society’s efforts in enforcing animal welfare laws and promoting humane treatment of animals.
During the meeting, the Member Secretary of the Society presented the audited accounts for the financial year, giving members an overview of the society’s financial operations and resource utilization.
The Executive Secretary delivered a detailed presentation outlining the key activities and interventions carried out by DSPCA North over the past year. The presentation also highlighted several noteworthy cases handled by the officers, demonstrating the Society’s active role in ensuring animal protection across the district.
DSPCA North continues to respond to all cases under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, which includes incidents of abuse, neglect, and illegal practices involving animals.
In addition to its core responsibilities, the Society has also been addressing feeder harassment issues in collaboration with Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Housing Societies. These efforts are aimed at identifying and designating safe feeding spots for stray animals in coordination with various government departments.
