Continuing its action under Operation Flushout, Mandrem Police have arrested a 39-year-old Ugandan woman for illegally staying in Goa without valid travel documents.
The accused, identified as Namutebi Mulongo Prossy, a Ugandan national currently residing in Arambol, was found to have overstayed in India for nearly two years after the expiry of her visa. The arrest was made during a verification drive carried out by Mandrem Police on July 11 at Khalchawada, Arambol, around 10:35 a.m.
The case was registered under Crime No. 76/25 under Section 7(1)(3) of the Foreigners Order, 1948, and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946. The complaint was filed by PSI Jaydeep Palyekar, who also led the operation and arrested the accused at 12:13 p.m. on the same day.
Police sources confirmed that the woman was found without valid visa documents and had no legal authority to continue her stay in the country. She is currently in custody, and further investigation is underway.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to tracking and acting against foreign nationals staying illegally in the state as part of Operation Flushout.
