Panaji, Goa: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has welcomed and congratulated the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for approving the launch of the “Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana”, a landmark 6-year agricultural mission aimed at transforming India’s agri-sector.
The scheme, set to be rolled out in 100 districts starting 2025-26, is designed to enhance agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification and sustainable practices, improve irrigation, and bolster post-harvest infrastructure at the panchayat and block levels. It also focuses on ensuring timely credit access for farmers.
Calling the scheme visionary and game-changing, CM Sawant said, “This mission will empower our Annadatas with modern tools, improve income security, and build resilience. It is a major step toward Atmanirbhar Krishi and Viksit Bharat 2047.”
The programme will be implemented through convergence of 36 schemes across 11 Ministries, with a strong push for private sector participation and real-time monitoring through 117 performance indicators.
“The PM Dhan-Dhaanya Yojana reflects the Centre’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth in agriculture, which will greatly benefit farmers in Goa and across the country,” the Chief Minister added.
