Panaji: Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira has brushed aside a recent complaint reportedly filed against him, expressing strong doubts about whether it was genuinely authored by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar.
Reacting to media queries, Ferreira said, “I read the complaint and laughed. It seemed childish and immature. I don’t think our party president could be so childish.”
He added that if there was any real issue, it could have been resolved with a simple phone call. “He could’ve just called me and sorted the issue directly,” Ferreira remarked.
The Congress MLA, who is also a senior legal professional, further stated that he has not received any official notice yet. “As and when the disciplinary committee sends me any notice, I will give an appropriate reply,” he assured.
“I have not done anything wrong,” Ferreira affirmed, dismissing the allegations as baseless and reiterating his commitment to the party and public service.
The controversy has stirred fresh tensions within the state unit of the Congress, with party insiders closely watching how the GPCC leadership responds in the coming days.
