Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho has come down heavily on panchayat secretaries resisting the implementation of the AI-based attendance system, stating that their opposition stems from a reluctance to embrace punctuality and accountability.
“Only minor technical formalities remain. The system will be rolled out shortly,” Godinho assured, adding that the new attendance mechanism is aimed at bringing more discipline and transparency in grassroots governance.
He criticised the opposition as a deliberate move to maintain laxity, asserting that the AI system will help streamline functioning in panchayat offices and improve service delivery to citizens.
On another note, Godinho lauded the achievements of the Chicalim Sub-District Hospital, which recently won national recognition. He credited the success to the leadership and support of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
“The award is a reflection of efficient planning and excellent execution under the guidance of the CM and Health Minister,” he said, praising the duo for their commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure in Goa.
