Panaji, July 11:
The Goa State Election Commission has announced bye-elections to fill vacant seats in two Village Panchayats. The elections will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, for:
1. Ward No. IV of Village Panchayat Arambol, Pernem taluka
2. Ward No. II of Village Panchayat Durbhat, Ponda taluka
The counting of votes is scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2025.
As per the press note issued by the Commission, the District Collectors of North and South Goa will serve as the District Election Officers, while the Mamlatdars of the respective talukas will act as Returning Officers. Awal Karkuns has been appointed as Assistant Returning Officers.

Voting will be conducted by ballot
Expenditure limit for each candidate is ₹40,000
Polling hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Model Code of Conduct is now in effect from July 11, 2025, and will remain applicable in the relevant areas until the election process concludes.

Nomination Filing: July 15 to July 22 (except July 20)
Scrutiny of Nominations: July 23
Withdrawal of Nominations: July 24
Polling Day: August 2
Counting of Votes: August 4
Pre-Poll Details:
Arambol (Ward IV): 586 voters (291 male, 295 female), polling at Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School, Arambol
Durbhat (Ward II): 385 voters (196 male, 189 female), polling at Government Primary School, Und-Agapur
A total of 971 voters are eligible to vote across both wards. General Observers and Flying Squads have been deployed to ensure enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.
