Panaji, July 11:
In a significant political statement ahead of the upcoming elections, Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) President Manoj Parab has hinted at the possibility of forging alliances, stating that “removing BJP alone won’t help Goans” and calling for a united front with a clear vision for Goa’s future.
In a powerful message shared on social media, Parab stressed that “Unity without vision is useless”, and urged like-minded forces to join hands in forming a new government that prioritizes Goan interests. He emphasized the need to define the term “Person of Goan Origin” (POGO), safeguard Goa’s land, and continue the fight to protect River Mhadei.
“We must throw out the BJP to form a new government that defines ‘Person of Goan Origin’, protects our land, and fights for Mhadei. We’re ready to work with all to define who a true Goan is,” Parab stated.
The post was accompanied by the POGO emblem and Parab’s image, reinforcing RGP’s central agenda of asserting Goan identity and resisting what they view as demographic and political dilution.
Political observers see this as a clear sign that the RGP, which has so far maintained a strong independent stance, may be open to entering a broader anti-BJP alliance in the run-up to the next assembly elections.
While no formal announcement of an alliance has been made, Parab’s message signals a strategic shift, with the party potentially seeking greater collaboration to amplify its influence and push its POGO-based policy agenda.
