The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced that it is open to forming an alliance with opposition parties in Goa and has authorised State President Valmiki Naik, Working President Gerson Gomes, and Organisational Secretary Prashant Naik to lead alliance discussions on behalf of the party.
Addressing the media, AAP leaders said the party’s primary political fight is against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and stressed that the ideological battle to protect democracy and safeguard Goa’s future must be fought collectively.
The party appealed to all opposition parties to set aside personal ambitions and differences in the larger interest of the state. According to AAP, the objective of any alliance should not merely be to form a government, but to unite against what it described as the BJP’s policies and to protect Goa’s democratic values and interests.
AAP reiterated that it remains committed to working with like-minded opposition parties and said the authorised leaders will engage in discussions aimed at building a broader alliance ahead of future political developments in the state.
