Margao, July 28, 2025:
In a commendable act of public-spirited support, the Verna Industries Association (VIA) donated 500 raincoats to police personnel across South Goa to aid them during the monsoon season.
VIA president Kalpak Arware formally handed over 400 raincoats to the office of the South Goa Superintendent of Police in Margao in the presence of SP Tikam Singh, IPS, Verna PI Anand Shirodkar, and senior police officers. Also present were VIA executive committee members Rajesh Prabhu, Pradip Da Costa, Pramod Sulakhe, Kannan Ramkrishnan, and Viraj Sinari.
This donation follows earlier contributions of 70 raincoats to the Traffic Cell in Vasco and 30 raincoats to the PI office in Dabolim.
“We are honoured to support our police personnel who serve the community with dedication, rain or shine,” said VIA President Kalpak Arware. “These raincoats are a small token of our gratitude.”
SP Tikam Singh appreciated the gesture, stating, “This initiative reflects the strong bond and mutual respect between the police and the community.”
The initiative was made possible through the contributions of prominent Verna-based industries including Marksans Pharma, Rajesh Roadlines, Cipla, Microlabs, ZMI Zarhak Moulders, Sahil Foods and Packaging, Unnati Hospitality, Novacare, OldGoa Oils & Foods, Fishnet Industry, Lourenceo Marine, and Shivam Engineers.
